The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) said today that it thwarted an attempted drug smuggling operation early Thursday morning in the eastern military zone.

The operation was thwarted in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department; after intensifying search and inspection operations in the area, quantities of narcotics were discovered and seized. The confiscated items have been handed over to the relevant authorities – per the statement.

“The Jordanian Armed Forces are committed to deploying their full capabilities to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling operations, ensuring the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,” added the statement.
